Can I just say that I love our little growing family? Because I really, really do!
There’s not a whole lot that could have made me realize this more than an afternoon spent here in our house and wandering down 8th Street, amazing photographer in tow. There really was something about the hour and a half we spent taking photos today that made my heart SO warm.
Part of the magic of this time in our lives is simply the ability to take a step back and look at it–to see it for what it truly is. We’re growing in the most exciting of ways, and while we can’t quite hug or cozy up as closely with a belly between us, we can’t ever forget for a minute that God is brewing something magnificent beneath the surface.
I can’t wait to see the photos from today’s session, not only because I admire the artistic abilities of our photographer, but because there’s a lot of love between baby and J and me–and I never want to forget how good it feels. I want our little one to know that he or she was home in this family long before we ever counted fingers or toes or heard the first cry. And I want him or her to know that there is always love here, in this house, between mom and dad. Always will be.
We have 12 weeks to go before we meet the peanut, and this is just the beginning. But it’s a beautiful beginning, with a story to tell. Hopefully, we captured a little more of it today. I think perhaps we did. 🙂
captured…and captivated,
mm
