A few weeks ago, we met up with photographer, Jen Doornbos, for a little photo shoot of our growing family. We’ve so wanted to capture the love and expectation that are filling up our lives in this season, and Jen seemed like just the right person to help us do so. Our hour-and-a-half long session–which took place in our home and on the streets of our lovely downtown, was fun and upbeat. Jen did a great job of making us comfortable and grasping what we were hoping to preserve on camera. We’d never met in person before, but she just naturally fit into the mix and helped us to enjoy (even more) what we’re already loving about this adventure towards parenthood.
Since Tuesday, I’ve been clicking through images and admiring the ways that Jen was able to grasp our sentiments through her lens. We’re excited to frame and cherish these images–ones that remind us of the things that matter the absolute most. As promised, and without further delay…a {few} of my personal favorites:
what more can I say? i’m in love. times two.

These are SO beautiful. The expressions on yours and Jason’s faces are so peaceful and hope-full and love-full. How precious to someday be able to show your child – look, this is how we felt waiting for you.
There is something really touching about pregnancy photos. I have an old picture of my mom and dad when she was pregnant with me. It’s just a snapshot in the backyard, nothing fancy. But I love it because the way they look in the photo is the way I remember Mom and Dad from my childhood. Baby K may not realize it for a long time, but he or she will cherish these pictures. And no doubt, so will you. 🙂
